Press Release Overview The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho will offer 'Japanese Afternoon Tea: Karin,' a sushi-style afternoon tea inspired by morning glories, from June 1 (Mon) to August 31 (Mon), 2026.

During the beautiful season of morning glories that shine under the summer sun, we have prepared a Japanese-style afternoon tea featuring seasonal ingredients such as grunt (isaki), Japanese tiger prawn (kuruma ebi), sweet corn, and edamame, centered around the theme 'Morning glories blooming in a summer garden.' The afternoon tea expresses the cool colors of a summer garden and morning glories through arranged sushi, incorporating the techniques of sushi chefs and Japanese aesthetics into appetizers, steamed dishes, and desserts.

Offerings The main stand features gorgeous temari sushi, including fatty tuna (otoro), medium fatty tuna (chutoro) with sea urchin, lean tuna (akami) with sesame, grunt (isaki) with caviar-oli and basil, scallops (hotate) with caviar-oli, tilefish (amadai) marinated in kelp, conger eel (anago), and Japanese tiger prawn (kuruma ebi) topped with salmon roe (ikura). Two types of roll sushi are also included: avocado and sundried tomato roll, and squid and spicy cod roe (mentaiko) with mayonnaise roll. Furthermore, two types of arranged sushi inspired by morning glories are available: a 'Red' version wrapped in red radish with blueberries and raspberries, and a 'Blue' version wrapped in cucumber with kiwi fruit, expressing refreshing summer colors. The appetizers include seasonal soaked vegetables, corn mousse with bacon and salted kelp sauce, and edamame kakiage, allowing guests to savor recommended seasonal ingredients. Additionally, steamed egg custard (chawanmushi) containing the umami of snow crab, and desserts such as cooling anmitsu and mango pudding are arranged to perfectly suit a summer afternoon.
