Mash Style Lab Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Hiroyuki Kondo; hereinafter referred to as "the Company"), which operates fashion brands such as "SNIDEL" and "FRAY I.D", has commenced a collaborative development project with textile trading company Takisada Nagoya Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Naka-ku, Nagoya; President and CEO: Kentaro Taki; hereinafter referred to as "Takisada Nagoya") for products using SOLAMENT®, a new high-performance material independently developed and manufactured by Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Nobuhiro Matsumoto; hereinafter referred to as "Sumitomo Metal Mining").

Through this collaboration, a new original material, 'LUMISHADE by SOLAMENT®', has been developed, utilizing "SOLAMENT®", an advanced material that absorbs near-infrared (NIR) rays. This material will be sequentially adopted by 7 brands operated by the Company, including "SNIDEL", starting from the Spring/Summer 2026 season.

■ Background and Purpose of Collaboration: Focusing on "Near-Infrared Rays" which Account for 42% of Sunlight

Sunlight is composed of light energy such as ultraviolet (UV) rays, near-infrared (NIR) rays, and visible light (VIS). Traditionally, UV care has been the mainstream for sun protection. However, while UV rays account for only 6% of the sunlight reaching the earth's surface, "near-infrared rays", which constitute approximately 42%, have been revealed in recent research to penetrate deep into the skin due to their longer wavelength, contributing to photoaging such as wrinkles and sagging.

In the fashion industry, the development of essential sun protection items has become urgent amidst the increasingly severe hot weather conditions year after year. To address this challenge, the Company aimed to develop a new material that can simultaneously care for near-infrared rays, not just traditional UV care. By combining Sumitomo Metal Mining's advanced material technology with Takisada Nagoya's textile processing technology, this new material has been successfully developed.

■ Features of the New Material 'LUMISHADE by SOLAMENT®'

"Gently caring for skin and body from the sun's light."

'LUMISHADE by SOLAMENT®' is an original material developed by the Company, utilizing "SOLAMENT®" developed by Sumitomo Metal Mining. "SOLAMENT®" is a special ceramic fine particle derived from rare metals that absorbs near-infrared rays at a high level. Leveraging this technology, "LUMISHADE by SOLAMENT®" is a new material developed into woven and jersey fabrics suitable for women's fashion, balancing fashionability with advanced functionality.

Near-infrared rays have a longer wavelength than ultraviolet rays and penetrate deep into the skin. Furthermore, they carry heat, causing damage to skin tissues and leading to wrinkles and sagging. This is known as "photoaging." The tingling sensation on the skin when exposed to the sun is due to the heat from near-infrared rays.

'LUMISHADE by SOLAMENT®' focuses on these "near-infrared rays" and was developed with the aim of increasing the blocking rate compared to conventional products. By cutting not only UV rays but also the newly recognized "near-infrared rays", it cares for future skin and creates a new daily life.

1. Powerful Near-Infrared Blocking

Efficiently absorbs long-wavelength near-infrared rays, suppressing temperature rise inside clothing. Supports comfortable wear and skin protection even under strong sunlight.

*Company standard: Over 70% near-infrared absorption, over 90% UV absorption

2. Balancing High Functionality and Rich Color Options

Conventional functional materials faced challenges such as reduced dyeability, limited color options, and compromised original texture due to the blending amount and properties of functional components.

This material achieves high effectiveness with a small amount blended into the fibers, thus maintaining the original texture of the material while allowing for a wide range of color options crucial in fashion. It combines functionality with greater design freedom in fashion, achieving both beauty and health.

3. Environmental Consideration

A portion of this material uses environmentally friendly recycled polyester.
