Five Indicted for Illegally Dumping 1500 Tons of Industrial Waste on Rented Land in Miaoli's Zaociao
Five individuals, including Mr. Huang, have been indicted by the Miaoli District Prosecutors Office for illegally dumping 1500 metric tons of industrial waste. The waste, consisting of mixed plastics from dismantled end-of-life vehicles, was sourced from three recycling facilities in Taoyuan City and illegally deposited on rented land in Miaoli's Zaociao Township and Miaoli City. The operation involved contracting waste removal for NT$40,000-100,000 per truckload, generating approximately NT$2 million in illegal profits. The dumping covered an area of 2198 square meters. Prosecutors are seeking sentences of 2 years and 6 months or more for three defendants (Mr. Huang, Mr. Li, Mr. Lai) and confiscation of their illegal gains.
