Introducing LITE 600 2.0 (left) and RsPro 1800 (right)

YOKOITO Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture; Representative Director: Yutaro Nakajima) has introduced UnionTech's ultra-large "RsPro 1800" and "LITE 600 2.0" industrial SLA (Stereolithography) 3D printers. This establishes a system for 3D printing large parts up to 2,000mm without division. To meet the "large-scale and high-precision" needs in fields such as automotive and industrial machinery, we are currently commencing verification with these machines, aiming to expand our contract development and molding services.

Background of Introduction

YOKOITO did not stop at simply supporting the introduction of 3D printer hardware; in 2021, we launched "YAM (Yokoito Additive Manufacturing)," a specialized AM technology department dedicated to researching and popularizing AM technology. Since then, through YAM's activities, we have emphasized "hands-on support" to jointly solve the challenges faced by Japanese manufacturing through AM technology.

In the course of providing support, a bottleneck in many development sites was "the molding of large parts." The reduction in accuracy due to split adhesion and the instability of strength were among the challenges for the practical application of 3D printing technology. The introduction of the "RsPro 1800," which enables integrated molding of 2-meter class parts, is not merely an expansion of equipment; by eliminating size constraints, it moves us a step closer to realizing our company's mission: "a society where all ideas can be shaped."

Features of Introduced Machines and Materials Used

Ultra-large SLA 3D printer "RsPro 1800": Clear material "UTR-8100"

The printable area is a maximum of 1,800 x 900 x 600 mm (over 2,000 mm when using the diagonal). This enables integrated molding of transparent parts that are difficult to divide, such as large automotive lamp units and fluid visualization models.

Mid-size SLA 3D printer "LITE 600 2.0": ABS-like material (white) "TUF-86"

The printable area is a maximum of 600 x 600 x 400 mm. This mid-size machine can control the liquid surface during printing in micron units, preventing molding failures such as layer misalignment, and enabling high-speed, high-precision molding. It uses an ABS-like material with both toughness and strength, providing functional verification parts such as housing components and manufacturing jigs.

About UnionTech

UnionTech is a manufacturer that boasts a global share in industrial SLA 3D printers. With over 20 years of experience, it has high technical reliability and is adopted across various industries worldwide, including automotive, home appliances, and medical.

Future Outlook: From Technical Verification to Service Provision

Currently, YOKOITO is advancing the performance verification of these machines. Based on these verification results, we plan to offer contract development for human-sized or larger parts and large-scale 3D printing services through "YAM," which deploys production services using AM technology.

Prior to the official launch of services, we welcome preliminary consultations regarding large-scale molding, as well as technical cooperation and joint verification opportunities for companies wishing to confirm accuracy and material properties with the actual machines. Furthermore, we are always open to consultations for contract development and 3D printing, not limited to large-scale molding. Please feel free to contact us if you are considering or hoping for such services.

YOKOITO Co., Ltd.

Founded in 2014 with the mission to "aim for a society where all ideas can be shaped" through DF (Digital Fabrication) technology. Starting with the sale of 3D printers for dental and general use, they launched "Shin Kogeisha" (New Craft Workshop) as a research and development field, and in October 2021, launched "Yokoito Additive Manufacturing" as a brand aiming for the research and dissemination of AM technology.

In the same year, "Yokoito Additive Manufacturing Center" was opened in Kyoto as an AM technology research and dissemination and 3D printing service facility. Through the reform of production processes based on AM technology, they are developing businesses that advance Japanese manufacturing. Currently, they provide AM technology solutions and services to over 1,200 customers, including major manufacturers/suppliers of automotive, home appliance, and consumer products, as well as leading universities and research institutions nationwide.

From November 2022, they began offering an AM ecosystem including DfAM (Design for Additive Manufacturing) and post-processing.
