Yohji Yamamoto's 'WILDSIDE' Collaborates with Takeru Amano: New 'VENUS' Paintings Set for Exhibition and Lottery Sale

WILDSIDE, an edgy conceptual project by Yohji Yamamoto Inc., will host a special exhibition and lottery sale of artworks specially created by contemporary artist Takeru Amano, starting Friday, June 12. This collaboration features two new paintings based on Amano's signature motif, 'VENUS'. Amano's artworks are characterized by bright colors, extremely simplified line drawings of human figures, and pieces representing ephemerality. The newly released 'Venus in black' and 'Venus in super black' are WILDSIDE exclusive pieces where VENUS and flowers harmonize exquisitely against a deep, dark black background. Notably, 'Venus in super black' is painted using a special paint often described as the blackest in the world, giving the artwork an overwhelming expression of blackness and added depth. These artworks will be on special exhibition starting Friday, June 12, at WILDSIDE YOHJI YAMAMOTO HARAJUKU.
