Yamori and Tricycle Form Business Alliance: Promoting Circular Economy in Vacant House Renovation for Resource Recycling

(Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Shotaro Fujisawa, hereinafter 'Yamori') are pleased to announce that they signed a business alliance agreement on April 1, 2026.
Through this alliance, we will promote the utilization of used recycled products at vacant house renovation sites, aiming to achieve both resource circulation and reduction of environmental impact.

Tricycle views that various values such as parts, materials, and brands remain in products even after use, and aims to realize 'multi-value circulation' that connects value instead of 'discarding' them. Through reuse and recycling, we give new value to things that have been discarded, and are working to create a sustainable society. We have a strength in implementing a circular mechanism into society, and are tackling social issues from both the reduction of environmental impact and the effective utilization of resources.

On the other hand, Yamori has renovated a total of 250 vacant houses to date, and is promoting initiatives to connect residential stock dormant in the region to the next generation by operating them as valuable real estate with a long-term holding premise. It is characterized by not merely utilizing vacant houses, but by re-evaluating the value of existing buildings and focusing on creating a sustainable living environment. Based on the philosophy of 'utilizing and preserving' vacant houses rather than 'demolishing and ending,' we are practicing vacant house renovation that considers local communities and the environment.

In this alliance, Tricycle's reuse matching platform 'ReSACO' will provide used recycled products to property owners involved with Yamori, and will also promote reuse in Yamori's rental and guesthouse properties. By recirculating items such as furniture, equipment, and various supplies that are still fully usable, we will promote waste reduction and effective resource utilization.

To concretize the collaboration, both companies are considering the following measures:

1. Provision of reused items to affordable housing and guesthouse properties operated by Yamori

We will provide reused furniture, home appliances, and housing equipment (including unused items) to affordable rental properties renovated from vacant houses owned by Yamori, and to guesthouse/monthly properties utilizing vacant houses. With many families moving in, we plan to introduce air purifiers and air conditioners.
The concept is to streamline the initial stages of vacant house renovation by having Yamori handle property discovery and investor/owner recruitment, while Tricycle handles residual property removal, used item collection, renovation, metal purchase/disposal, and selection/collection of reusable items.

2. Utilization of reuse matching platform 'ReSACO' etc. for in-house and Yamori customers
We will utilize furniture and home appliances listed on the reuse matching platform 'ReSACO' for approximately 2,500 real estate owners who are Yamori customers, and for our own properties. Currently, we are also considering a concept that anticipates approximately 1,500 property contacts annually.

3. Construction of a circular supply chain in the housing sector
The concept is to streamline the initial stages of vacant house renovation by having Yamori handle property discovery and investor/owner recruitment, while Tricycle handles residual property removal, used item collection, renovation, metal purchase/disposal, and selection/collection of reusable items.

4. Joint development of new business models
We are also considering collaboration with funds that support vacant house renovation and real estate utilization, as well as financial collaboration possibilities regarding Yamori funds and our own properties.

The significant meaning of this alliance lies in both companies' commitment to environmental conservation through their respective businesses. By linking Yamori, which promotes the renovation and long-term utilization of existing housing stock, with Tricycle, which builds a resource circulation mechanism, the construction of a new circular model in the real estate sector is expected.

Going forward, we plan to further develop the business alliance, not only utilizing used recycled products but also considering collaboration in the industrial waste sector and recycling/resource recovery of residual items left in vacant houses. Both companies will continue to promote initiatives that contribute to reducing environmental impact and effectively utilizing regional resources for the realization of a sustainable society.
