[Free Admission] Commemorating the release of the all-Ehime-filmed horror movie 'Invisible Half'! The 'Masaki Nishiyama Exhibition' featuring the up-and-coming director from Matsuyama City will be held at the Matsuyama Castle Ropeway Station starting April 23rd.

Overview We are pleased to announce the 'Masaki Nishiyama Exhibition' at the Matsuyama Castle Ropeway Shinonome-guchi Station. In conjunction with the release of the feature film 'Invisible Half' (releasing May 15th), which was filmed entirely in Matsuyama City, this exhibition will showcase materials related to the past works of Masaki Nishiyama, a young film director from Matsuyama who directed the film. ■ Dates April 23, 2026 (Thursday) – May 28, 2026 (Thursday) 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Closes at 3:00 PM on the final day) ■ Admission Free ■ Venue Matsuyama Castle Ropeway Shinonome-guchi Station, 2nd Floor (3-2-46 Okaido, Matsuyama City) ■ Exhibits ● Costumes from the movie 'Invisible Half' (Created by special effects artist/character designer Kaiho) ● Looped screening of 'The Flap of the Butterfly's Wings,' the sci-fi film that served as the origin for Director Nishiyama during his high school years ● Approximately 50 illustrations and 30 posters for 'Invisible Half' created by students from the Kawahara Design & Art College ● Materials related to previous works, and more ■ Special Screening 'The Flap of the Butterfly's Wings' (Produced in 2017) This is the debut sci-fi work that Director Nishiyama spent three years creating between the ages of 16 and 18. With the tagline, 'THIS IS MY DESTINY: A single choice changes all fate,' the film was created with a burning passion to 'become a great film director.' We will be holding a special screening of this work, which was highly acclaimed internationally, including winning the Platinum Award at the Mindfield Film Festival 2018 (USA). ■ Masaki Nishiyama Profile Born in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture. Graduate of Nitta Seiun Secondary School. He began independent filmmaking at the age of 14. His high school sci-fi film 'The Flap of the Butterfly's Wings' won the Platinum Award at the Mindfield Film Festival 2018. That same year, he released 'The Eternal Moment,' filmed entirely in London. In 2021, his directed work 'Sumohorror!' won the Best Short Award in the Vertical Theater category at the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2021 and was nominated for the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival. In 2024, he formed the horror unit 'Bermuda 3' with Naoko Sato and Sesuji. He served as video supervisor for the experiential exhibition '1999 Exhibition: Memories of a Day That Never Existed,' held in Shibuya last year, which attracted 100,000 visitors. In 2025, he made his feature film debut with 'Invisible Half'.
