Live-action drama adaptation of 'Dry no Douki no Dekiai-heki' to air on BS TV Tokyo starting July 8, 2026

Wave Inc. announced that the live-action drama adaptation of the wwwave comics title 'Dry no Douki no Dekiai-heki' by Peki Aoi will air on BS TV Tokyo every Wednesday night from 12:00 AM to 12:30 AM, starting July 8, 2026.

Since its digital debut in 2022, the series has captivated readers with the heart-fluttering romance between Ayame Hanazawa, a woman who is hesitant about love because she can read minds through scents, and Sui Miyajima, her emotionless and stoic colleague whose mind she cannot read due to his germaphobia.

When Ayame eventually reads Sui's mind, she discovers that contrary to his cold exterior, he is obsessed with her in his delusions! The story depicts two individuals who are clumsy in love taking the next step, along with the complex human relationships surrounding them.

To commemorate the drama adaptation, comments and a new illustration by author Peki Aoi have been released, along with character portraits of the dual leads, Karen Yui and Taiya Fujibayashi, and a collaboration visual recreating the original cover.

■ Author Peki Aoi's Comment
I remember shaking when I heard about the drama adaptation on Christmas last year, thinking, 'What a Christmas present!' I'm excited to see how the characters I imagine in my head move on screen, especially Sui's delusional scenes. I'm grateful to everyone involved and look forward to watching the broadcast.

■ Dual Leads: Karen Yui & Taiya Fujibayashi
Ayame Hanazawa is played by Karen Yui, a former Takarazuka Revue star known for her dancing and expressive skills, marking her first leading role in a drama. Sui Miyajima is played by Taiya Fujibayashi, known for his role in 'Kamen Rider Gotchard', who continues to build his popularity.

■ Karen Yui as Ayame Hanazawa
Role: A woman who can read minds through scents but keeps distance from others due to the malice she sometimes hears. She is hesitant about love but slowly opens up after learning of Sui's feelings.

Role: Ayame's colleague. A 'super dry' man who is a germaphobe, making it impossible for Ayame to read his mind. However, in his head, he is deeply in love with Ayame and cannot stop his delusions. He is clumsy but devoted.
Comment: I'm Taiya Fujibayashi, cast as Sui. I've worked hard to convey the gap in his charm—a cold colleague with an absurdly obsessive side—while preserving the original atmosphere.
