Proposing a new consumption culture for the next generation from the keywords "reuse, recycle" essential for the fashion industry today
"WWDJAPAN REUSE MARKET 2026 SPRING", an experiential cultural event for realizing a sustainable society, hosted by fashion & beauty industry media "WWDJAPAN", will be held for the second time on April 18, 2026 (Saturday), under the theme of "Circulate, Don't discard". It proposes a lifestyle of connecting unused items to those who need them, rather than discarding them.
We will create a place where companies, creators, and consumers can experience circular consumption behavior, where items are passed on to their next owner, together. At the venue, creators active in the fashion industry, such as designers, stylists, models, and artists, unique to "WWDJAPAN", will set up booths to sell their personal belongings and one-of-a-kind items. They will sell their beloved items and unique pieces that have been dormant at home, passing the baton to the next owner. Fashion lovers of all generations will gather and, through dialogue with exhibitors, enjoy the pleasure of finding unique, beloved items that are not new but have their own special value.
Beyond a mere flea market, a variety of content is prepared. At the special DJ booth at the venue, popular industry DJs will select playlists and perform for "WWDJAPAN REUSE MARKET 2026 SPRING", enhancing the shopping mood. At the Creators' Booth, special creators with deep ties to "WWDJAPAN" have been asked to gather items in one booth. "WWDJAPAN" will sell special personal clothes with sentimental value from leading Japanese creative directors and artists on their behalf.
In addition, at the repair and remake experience workshop, based on the concept of long wear, professional repair performances and hands-on experiences are possible. Artists will demonstrate special embroidery custom services based on portraits for special items purchased, traditional Japanese Kintsugi, and nail art services using unwanted parts. Furthermore, a live public broadcast of the "WWDJAPAN" podcast has been decided. "WWDJAPAN" Sustainability Director Chizuru Mukai and other famous editorial members will serve as moderators, recording the official podcast live at this event for the first time and broadcasting it live at the venue. With the theme of the forefront of sustainability, special luxurious guests will be invited to discuss daily actions for the environment and sustainable lifestyles.
Participation is by pre-registration, with a charity admission fee of 500 yen (tax included), and anyone from children to adults can participate. The charity admission fee, as well as donations from exhibitors, participants, and companies for this event, will be donated to organizations supporting environmental protection activities, creating a system where contributions from all participants circulate back to society.
