WOW WORLD Co., Ltd. (Wow World / Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, President and Representative Director: Kazuo Mino), which supports the improvement of CX for companies and organizations through the development and provision of SaaS, is pleased to announce the launch of its "AI Business Card Capture (Business Card OCR) Function" within its communication system "WEBCAS" series. This function utilizes AI to read and digitize business card information.

With this function, AI analyzes business card images taken by staff with smartphones at exhibitions and event venues, enabling effortless digitization of business card data. Based on this data, follow-up emails can be sent from the sales representative as the sender as early as the next day. This facilitates prompt post-exhibition customer engagement and efficiently supports corporate sales activities.

■ Background of the New Function

One of the purposes for companies to exhibit at trade shows is to create touchpoints with new prospective customers and lead to subsequent business discussions. However, in actual operations, there are many challenges such as "it takes time to digitize business card information" and "we want to follow up with all customers we interact with, but we don't have the capacity," leading to cases where follow-ups are not made while visitor interest is high.

Furthermore, after trade shows, many companies send follow-up emails, and mass mailings from a general address can cause emails to get buried.

To solve these issues, we have developed a function that utilizes AI to automatically digitize business card information and have launched a service that allows follow-up emails to be sent from each sales representative's email address as early as the next day.

We offer "WEBCAS DB creator," a system that allows easy creation of customer databases and registration forms. The "AI Business Card Capture (Business Card OCR) Function" will be offered as an optional feature of this system. It analyzes business card images taken at exhibitions and event venues using AI, digitizes information such as name, company name, and email address into text data, and registers it into the WEBCAS database.

The database is linked with "WEBCAS e-mail," the email distribution system of the WEBCAS series, allowing for mass distribution of emails by referencing the accumulated data or sending different email content to each customer. By utilizing the "Individual Representative Mass Sending Function," it is possible to follow up with emails sent as personal messages from sales representatives. Emails can be sent as early as the day of the exhibition, enabling timely initial response and preventing missed opportunities.
