Our company supports April Dream, which aims to make April 1st a day for sharing dreams. This press release is the dream of Wintech Co., Ltd.

We want to convey the culture and charm of Japan that the world can be proud of.

Our dream is a future where people naturally say, "When you think of building blocks, you think of KIKKA." Currently, when it comes to building blocks, European-made ones are widely known. Their appeal is, of course, wonderful. On the other hand, Japan has a unique culture of play that fosters sensitivity and cooperation, which we can be proud of to the world. This is where Japan's unique spirit of craftsmanship comes to life, from material selection to processing and finishing. We believe that Japanese-made building blocks also have a culture and charm that the world can be proud of. Furthermore, what is required of children today is not to trace pre-prepared answers, but the power to think for themselves, to go through trial and error, to challenge, and to create. To nurture that power, we want to provide many children with the "きっかけ" (kikkake - opportunity/trigger) to acquire it naturally through play. Born from this desire is "KIKKA," an educational building block from Japan. KIKKA, born from these thoughts, is currently expanding through various initiatives.

It started with "unstackable building blocks."

KIKKA is an educational building block born from the desire for children to "become people who can think and act on their own." The world today is filled with toys that can be played with without thinking. On the other hand, play that involves deep thought and repeated trial and error seems to be decreasing.

"Try, think, and challenge again." It is this repetition that develops a child's ability to think. That's why we decided, "We want to create toys that allow for more freedom and more enjoyment of thinking." After many prototypes, we arrived at two shapes, X and K, inspired by flowers and butterflies. There are no set rules on how to play. From simple to difficult play, the possibilities depend on the child's imagination and growth. It may not go well at first. However, the moment of "I did it!" that lies beyond is what nurtures their thinking ability, curiosity, and self-esteem.

"Building blocks that are not easy to stack, that don't go as planned." That is the origin of KIKKA. Through the experience of playing while thinking, children develop the power to forge their own futures. That is our wish.

KIKKA's Initiatives

KIKKA went on sale in June 2024. The material used is the famous "Yoshino Hinoki" (cypress) from Yoshino Town, Nara Prefecture, known as one of Japan's leading forestry areas. Because these are items that children will handle, we were particular about using safe materials and quality that will last for a long time. After the launch, we have cherished opportunities to directly hear the voices of parents and see children play by actively participating in parenting events and holding hands-on sessions in Yoshino Town, Nara, the source of the materials. Through these efforts, we received the "18th Kids Design Award" (2024). Furthermore, we also won the "Wood Design Award 2025" (2025), and its value and initiatives have been highly evaluated.

In November 2025, we also began selling the "KIKKA Basic40," a large-capacity 40-piece set for preschools and educational institutions. KIKKA is an educational building block that helps develop "non-cognitive skills" such as children's thinking ability, creativity, and the power to challenge. These are considered important elements for children living in the coming era and are attracting attention in the educational field.

In December of the same year, triggered by winning the Wood Design Award, our collaboration with Yoshino Town, Nara, the source of our materials, deepened, and we were given the opportunity for a courtesy visit to the town mayor. Subsequently, as an initiative utilizing local resources, KIKKA has been adopted as a return gift for Yoshino Town's hometown tax program.

Currently, in addition to our official shop, our handling stores are expanding nationwide, including department stores and local toy specialty shops. Opportunities for people to actually pick up KIKKA and experience playing with it have increased, allowing them to experience KIKKA's philosophy and charm.

Towards Realizing Our Dream

KIKKA will continue to expand its sales channels and increase recognition within Japan to deliver its value to more children. Also, as an educational building block originating from Japan, we are considering overseas expansion and will broaden our collaboration with domestic and international companies and organizations. Even if countries and cultures differ, the "power to think, try, and challenge for oneself" is an indispensable force for children living in the coming era. And we believe that the successful experience of "I did it!" in play will become a source of joy and confidence for each child, and the driving force to take a step toward the future.

KIKKA will continue to move forward to be a "kikkake" (trigger) for a happy future for many children.
