Experiencing Career Mapping Changed Managers' Questioning and Interaction. Willnext Design Trial Adoption Case Study at ECOMMIT Released

Case Study Overview

At ECOMMIT, due to an increase in the number of employees accompanying its rapid growth phase, it became difficult for managers to secure time to face their subordinates with a mid-to-long-term perspective.

Additionally, while employees joined the company resonating with its MISSION, VISION, and VALUE, there were cases where they could not fully map out how their daily tasks connected to their own careers.

To address these challenges, Willnext Design was introduced on a trial basis as an approach to intrinsic motivation through career mapping.

It was conducted for two managers with different roles and backgrounds.

Changes After Implementation

After the program ended, the quality of questions regarding careers changed for both managers.

In goal-setting scenarios, more concrete and applied consultations and questions arose, and they reported an increase in dialogues that encompassed not only their own futures but also those of their subordinates and involved members.

The 'Willnext Sheet' provided after the program ends also became an opportunity for the HR side to understand where employees feel a sense of fulfillment in their current tasks, bringing a multifaceted perspective that cannot be obtained in regular 1-on-1s, according to Mr. Horiuchi.
