License-Free Personal Mobility Device 'WHILL' Rental Service Launched at Fukushima Reconstruction Memorial Park

WHILL Inc. announced the launch of its 'WHILL Mobility Service,' utilizing the license-free short-distance mobility device WHILL, at the Fukushima Reconstruction Memorial Park, which opened in May 2026. The goal is to establish a mobility environment within the vast park that allows everyone to explore freely and comfortably, regardless of disability, age, or physical condition. This service was introduced by the Fukushima Reconstruction Memorial Park Management Consortium, the park's designated administrator.

The Fukushima Reconstruction Memorial Park spans approximately 50 hectares across the towns of Futaba and Namie in Fukushima Prefecture. It was established to mourn and pacify the souls of the victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake, to pass on the memories and lessons of the disaster to future generations, and to express a strong will for reconstruction to both Japan and the world. The WHILL Mobility Service has been launched to support extensive movement and improve the mobility environment for the diverse range of visitors.

The WHILL is a safe and secure short-distance mobility device classified as a 'pedestrian.'
