In the Kimberley region of northern Western Australia, a land of untouched wilderness where Indigenous Aboriginal culture thrives, the region's signature festival, the "Boab Metals Ord Valley Muster 2026," will be held from May 15 (Fri) to May 24 (Sun), 2026. This award-winning cultural event celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.

The Boab Metals Ord Valley Muster 2026 is based in the town of Kununurra and spans the East Kimberley region, celebrating the deep connection between the people, the land, and the culture. Against a backdrop of breathtaking, magnificent landscapes, a diverse program will be offered, allowing visitors to experience the rich Aboriginal culture of the land.

Interest in Aboriginal tourism experiences is growing, and the state offers various locations and events where visitors can engage with Indigenous Aboriginal history and culture.

Murujuga, located on the Dampier Peninsula and Burrup Peninsula, had its cultural landscape inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2025. On the layered red rock cliffs, approximately 2 million petroglyphs dating back over 50,000 years are carved, showcasing the deep bond between the Aboriginal people and the land. The site was also selected for TIME magazine's "The World’s Greatest Places of 2026," announced on March 12, 2026.

In Karijini National Park, the annual "The Karijini Experience" festival celebrates the traditional culture of the local Indigenous Aboriginal people. In 2026, it will be held from April 10 (Fri) to April 13 (Mon), offering a chance to encounter Aboriginal culture alongside the spectacular natural scenery of Karijini National Park.

Furthermore, a new facility where visitors can experience Aboriginal art and food culture is scheduled to open in late 2026 in Fremantle, a popular tourist destination near Perth.
