Over 90% Desire a Subscription for an 'Absolutely Fatigue-Free New Body,' Even Willing to Pay ¥50,000/Month!? Survey Reveals Reality of Business Professionals' 'Rusty Bodies'

Well Body Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Directors: Junichi Mizuno, Naoto Yoshimura), which operates the corporate physical care service "Offi-Stretch®," conducted a "Survey on Physical Fatigue and Workplace Conditions" targeting 152 business professionals nationwide.

This is the second installment following the previous survey (*), presenting results focused on the "perception of body pain" and "willingness to pay for a solution."

■ Survey Summary

1. Over 90% desire to pay out of pocket for an "absolutely fatigue-free new body"!

In response to the unique question, "If an 'absolutely fatigue-free new body, free from stiff shoulders and back pain' were available as a subscription (monthly fee), how much would you be willing to pay out of pocket per month?" a surprising 92.8% of people answered that they "want to acquire it even if it means paying."

Furthermore, more than half (53.3%) desired to pay "¥5,000 or more per month," and a significant 6.6% expressed a desperate desire for "¥50,000 or more per month (I'd pay anything!)."

Only a mere 7.2% answered "¥0 (my current body is sufficient)," clearly highlighting how much modern business professionals feel their physical limits and crave the "infrastructure of a healthy body" even if it means paying money.

This is no longer a luxurious wish to "become better" but a cry for help as a "survival strategy" to navigate this turbulent society.

2. Stiff shoulders and back pain described as "3 times gravity" and "rusty tin"

When asked to describe their current "stiff shoulders and back pain" using physical weight or phenomena, many vivid and painful responses were received.

- A sensation as if "Earth's gravity is three times stronger" only around the neck.
- A creaking sensation throughout the joints, like a rusty tin toy with no lubricant.
- The weight of a "bowling ball" on the shoulders.

Long hours of desk work, dependence on PCs and smartphones, and lack of exercise due to remote work... the very structure of modern society is "rusting" the bodies of business professionals and making them cry out in pain.

Many people are fighting daily while enduring a level of "structural physical suffering" that interferes with their daily lives and work.

■ In response to the survey results: Challenges of modern work styles and our aimed solutions

The results of this survey reflect that the "stiff shoulders and back pain" experienced by business professionals are not merely personal ailments but structural issues created by modern work styles themselves.

Desk-centric work and the establishment of online operations create an environment where maintaining high concentration without moving the body accumulates significant burdens on our bodies unconsciously.

The fact that over 90% of people answered "I want a body that doesn't get tired, even if I have to pay for it" represents the "zeitgeist" that the need for fatigue recovery is so urgent that individual self-care on holidays is insufficient.

Against this backdrop, we believe that a system is needed where companies support the maintenance of employee conditions as an organization, rather than leaving it solely to "individual effort (out-of-pocket expense)."
