From Saturday, May 2nd, a POP UP event by artist Yuki Fujisawa's textile/design label "YUKI FUJISAWA" will be held at CIBONE CASE (Ginza).
"YUKI FUJISAWA," which started in 2012, develops expressions that cross the boundaries of clothing, crafts, and art, with the theme of "memory, time, and aging." Its distinctive feature is a unique production method that applies handcrafts such as foil processing, dyeing, and embroidery to vintage knits, used clothes, and lace as a base. Focusing on materials that have aged, they reconstruct them into one-of-a-kind products through handwork like foil processing and dyeing. While utilizing the background and memories inherent in the materials, they create art pieces with different expressions.
This will be the first POP UP at CIBONE. Fujisawa's creations, which carefully pack what she sees, hears, and feels in daily life into handwork, resemble a heartfelt letter written to a loved one. Therefore, the theme of this POP UP is 'Dear/From YUKI FUJISAWA,' structured around the concept of a "letter."
Focusing on physical elements found in letters, such as stamps, postmarks, and handwriting, and viewing the act of conveying thoughts to someone through time and memory as one perspective, "YUKI FUJISAWA"'s craftsmanship is reinterpreted. In addition to "NEW VINTAGE" art pieces, which are brand staples like vintage T-shirts and tote bags with dyeing and foil, a total of 15 types of works will be displayed, including limited items created inspired by the exhibition's theme and the concept of CIBONE CASE (Ginza).
