Weather Data Science LLC, a provider of business analytics and AI development solutions using meteorological data, will launch its customizable solar power forecasting system, 'PV Forecast Self-Workshop,' on June 21, 2026. The service adopts a 'self-service' model where users register and manage power plant specifications directly on the website. By having customers handle the initial setup and tuning processes, the company has realized a SaaS cloud service with zero initial costs and a monthly fee starting from 5,000 JPY. The service is designed to support the operational needs of new power providers and power generation businesses, as well as short-term needs for demonstration projects or as a bridge for AI model training data. It is also accessible for individual solar power plant owners. The development stems from a failed crowdfunding project in 2020; after six years of technical accumulation, the company has finally realized its goal of providing affordable forecasting. Key features include low costs through a fully self-service model, high customizability, and a proprietary engineering model that provides forecasts up to 10 days in advance. Please note that as the service is based on an engineering model, factors such as shadows, equipment failure, and output control are not included in the calculations. The fee is 5,000 JPY (excluding tax) per forecast unit per month, and data is provided via CSV download or API integration.
