Washinmura in Futtsu, Chiba Holds 'Cat General Election 2025', AI Talent Show Coming Soon

Washinmura, an inn where you can stay with cats in Futtsu City, Chiba, is holding its first Cat General Election 2025.

Currently, the first-ever "Cat General Election 2025" is underway at Washinmura and is becoming a hot topic on their social media. A fierce competition among 15 shelter cats is unfolding, and a "Cat Talent Show" utilizing AI technology is also planned.

## What is the Cat General Election?
It is an unprecedented event where 15 shelter cats living at Washinmura compete for the position of "Oshi-neko" (favorite cat). Living in the Boso satoyama (woodlands), just 90 minutes by car from Tokyo, these cats with unique personalities are doing their best to capture the hearts of fans with their individual charms.

Current Status:
11 cats have already been introduced in parts 1 through 3. The remaining 4 cats will be announced in part 4.

How to Vote:
You can vote on the official Instagram account (@washinmura_nature_glamping).

[Part 1] 4 Sibling Cats
- Donut: A laid-back type proud of the fluffy fur around the neck. Sometimes sleeps with guests.
- Ariel: An expressive idol cat. Good at switching between a sweet face and a cool look.
- Shasha: Washinmura's self-proclaimed patrol captain. Has a strong sense of responsibility and watches over everyone's safety.
- Cruella: Striking black and white beautiful fur. Looks cool but is actually a lap cat.

[Part 2] 3 Unique Personalities
- Gold: The hidden manager of the cafe. Mature charm, seeking affection only when in the mood.
- Silver: Full of energy even with three legs. Welcomes guests at the cafe.
- Dollar: A soothing type moving at its own pace. Might visit your room as soon as you arrive.

[Part 3] 4 Independent Types
- Jasmine: Shy at first, but transforms into a sweet cat once used to you.
- Jerry: A sociable type who can get along with anyone.
- Tooth: A memorable and unique personality just like the name.
- Anko: Fans are rapidly increasing thanks to the cute name.

## What is the AI Talent Show?
A "Cat Talent Show" edited with AI to highlight each cat's personality is scheduled to be released. Videos will introduce their special skills and charms, carrying out an "election campaign" for the fans.

Passionate comments from guests who actually stayed are pouring in on Instagram. Comments based on real experiences, such as "I like Donut! Slept with me when I stayed," "I support Ariel. Always comes to play every time I visit," and "Silver. Always welcomes me at the cafe!" illustrate the appeal of this project.

## Future Plans
The introduction of the remaining 4 cats in part 4 and the release of the AI Talent Show are expected to spread the buzz further. Through this initiative, Washinmura aims to promote understanding of shelter animals and realize a society where humans and animals can live together.

## Washinmura's Animal Welfare Efforts
Under the theme of "coexistence of humans, animals, and nature," Washinmura provides an environment where 15 shelter cats can live freely. As a registered Class 1 Animal Handling Business facility, health management is strictly conducted under the guidance of veterinarians. Bringing in commercially available snacks is prohibited, and only carefully selected additive-free, domestically produced snacks are sold on-site, prioritizing operations that reduce stress on the animals.

## Easily Accessible Location
Despite its excellent location—just 90 minutes by car from central Tokyo and about 10 minutes by taxi from Kazusa-Minato Station on the JR Uchibo Line—guests can fully enjoy the rich satoyama environment of Boso. Various ways to enjoy the stay are available, including accommodation experiences in a 200-year-old traditional folk house, private outdoor BBQ spaces, a sauna, and a cafe.
