Seiko House Hall will host the "Rimako Horikawa Painting Exhibition - Footprints of Time" from Thursday, April 23rd to Wednesday, May 6th. This is the 8th solo exhibition by painter and picture book author Rimako Horikawa at Wako, and the first in three years.

This exhibition, themed "Footprints of Time," will feature approximately 60 works, including paintings that evoke a sense of nostalgia with motifs of animals, children, and clocks, as well as ceramic works and original illustrations from picture books.

In particular, the works exploring "light and shadow," a new expressive challenge for the artist, shift their expressions with the viewer's gaze, speaking to each person's heart.

We invite you to experience this world of rich colors and warm paintings.

Regarding "Rimako Horikawa Painting Exhibition - Footprints of Time"

I've found myself thinking more about what it means to be alive right now.

To live is to leave one's "footprints" everywhere, and to weave small, individual stories. I feel deeply how fortunate that is, and I wanted to depict those small, personal stories in my paintings.

Also, I've always enjoyed drawing the interesting aspects of imagery and form, and I feel that this enjoyment is a natural part of my artistic process. Rimako Horikawa
