Making Japan a Holy Land for Whisky: 'Whisky Tourism Copper Seal Book' Finally Launches

Wakatsuru Sake Brewing Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Saburo-maru, Tonami City, Toyama Prefecture, President and Representative Director: Takahiko Inagaki) will participate in the whisky tourism project "Japanese Whisky Passport Copper Seal Book" hosted by Travel Yomiuri Publishing Co., Ltd. This project was personally overseen by Inagaki himself as the representative of T&T TOYAMA*.

The 'Copper Seal Book' is planned and issued by Travel Yomiuri Publishing (Yomiuri Travel Group) and will go on sale from April 1, 2026 (Japanese Whisky Day) at 28 craft distilleries nationwide and on the Travel Yomiuri Publishing website.

At the Saburo-maru Distillery, from the start of whisky production in 1952, through a large-scale distillery renovation in 2017, in recent years, new facilities such as a distillery restaurant, the regenerative barrel workshop Re:COOPERAGE, a blender & workshop room, and a hand-fill room have been developed on-site, aiming to enrich services to provide visitors with an experience that engages all 'five senses' and offers a 'unique experience'. As a result, last year, the number of visitors in fiscal 2025 recorded a record high of approximately 45,000 people (according to Wakatsuru Sake Brewing). We aim to continue growing as a visitor facility and, through participation in the 'Japanese Whisky Passport Copper Seal Book,' contribute to the revitalization of local industries and tourism in Toyama, and further promote the development of the Japanese whisky industry.
