Making Japan a Sacred Land for Whisky: The "Whisky Tourism Copper Seal Book" Finally Launches

Wakatsuru Shuzo Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Saburomaru, Tonami City, Toyama Prefecture; President: Takahiko Inagaki) is pleased to announce its participation in the "Japanese Whisky Passport Copper Seal Book (Doin-cho)" whisky tourism project organized by Ryokou Yomiuri Shuppan. This project was supervised by Inagaki himself in his capacity as the representative of T&T TOYAMA*.

The "Copper Seal Book" is planned and published by Ryokou Yomiuri Shuppan (Yomiuri Travel Group). Sales will begin on April 1, 2026 (Japanese Whisky Day) at 28 craft distilleries nationwide and through the Ryokou Yomiuri Shuppan website.

Since starting whisky production in 1952 and undergoing a major renovation in 2017, Saburomaru Distillery has recently expanded its facilities to include a distillery restaurant, the "Re:COOPERAGE" recycled barrel workshop, a blender & workshop room, and a hand-fill room. These additions aim to provide visitors with a "five-senses" experience and "one-of-a-kind" service. As a result, the number of visitors in fiscal year 2025 reached a record high of approximately 45,000 (according to Wakatsuru Shuzo). By participating in the "Japanese Whisky Passport Copper Seal Book," we aim to continue growing as a tourist destination while contributing to the revitalization of local industry and tourism in Toyama, as well as the further development of the Japanese whisky industry.
