On Saturday, June 13, 2026, Mizuho Tadano, Senior Consultant at "GuuMin (Baby and Family Sleep Consultation Room)" operated by Vitalnet Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Sendai City, Aoba Ward, President: Takeshi Ichijo), was a guest speaker at the "Work Work Sukoyaka Seminar" hosted by The 77 Bank, Ltd. (Head Office: same ward, President: Hidefumi Kobayashi). This initiative is part of the DE&I (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) promotion advocated by the 77 Group, aiming to support employees' smooth return to work and autonomous career development.
Background and Objectives
The 77 Group aims to create a workplace environment where diverse talent can maximize their abilities, actively promoting career support and DE&I initiatives. Meanwhile, "parental sleep deprivation due to child sleep problems" is a significant social issue in balancing childcare and work. According to Vitalnet's independent survey, 55.5% of parents struggle with "child's sleep" during childcare after childbirth, leading to physical fatigue due to their own lack of sleep, posing a high barrier to balancing childcare and work (Survey release here). To address these challenges, The 77 Bank, which supports the local community financially, and Vitalnet, which supports health and medical care, have joined forces to hold this seminar, approaching the issue with medical and expert knowledge.
Seminar Overview and Program Details
The seminar was held in a hybrid format, both in-person (with a kids' space) and online. A total of 14 employees, both male and female, participated, actively exchanging opinions on concerns unique to parental leave and anxieties about returning to work.

Comments from The 77 Bank Representative
Hiromi Takahashi, Head of the Diversity Promotion Office, The 77 Bank
Thank you very much for your lecture at the "Work Work Sukoyaka Seminar," a childcare support seminar hosted by our group. Your expert insights on the theme of children's sleep were presented in an easy-to-understand manner, and many participants expressed comments such as "I want to try this right away" and "I wish I had known this sooner." For employees raising children, it was a valuable opportunity to reflect not only on their children's healthy growth but also on their own physical and mental health and how to balance it with work. Furthermore, when we recruited participants for this theme, about half were men, indicating a growing awareness of childcare as a shared responsibility regardless of gender. We hope to continue cherishing such learning opportunities to create a workplace where everyone can continue to work with peace of mind.
