The Visual Industry Promotion Organization (NPO) (Abbreviation: VIPO, Chairman: Takayuki Matsutani, Location: Chuo-ku, Tokyo) is calling for project entries to participate in the "NAFF* It Project," a project market at Asia's largest genre film festival, the "Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN)," for which VIPO has recommendation quotas.

*NAFF: Network of Asian Fantastic Films

At the Bucheon project market "NAFF It Project," approximately 20 projects are selected from film projects submitted globally. The producers and directors of these projects earn the opportunity to pitch (have individual meetings) to invited investors, film festival programmers, platformers, distributors, and producers from around the world, with the aim of leading to international co-production, funding, and distribution.

**<Last year's (2025) participating projects (partial list)>**

**Participating Project 1: "WASH AWAY"** Director Takuya Miyahara / Producer Kentaro Hayashi (Nothing New) At the pitch in Bucheon, won the "Asian Discovery Award," one of the NAFF It Project cash prize awards given to newcomers in Asian genre cinema.

**Participating Project 2: "Lovely Ugly Your Friend"** Director Yuka Yasukawa / Producers Megumi Kubota & Shoko Miyamori (Bridgehead) / Screenplay Tatsuo Kobayashi Won the "Mocha Chai Award," which grants post-production rights worth USD 35,000 from Mocha Chai Laboratories, a company that handles post-production for numerous films.

<Genre films>, which always attract attention in the global market, is a general term for film genres also known as fantastic or fanta. Generally, they are highly entertaining works full of originality, including horror, fantasy, sci-fi, and thrillers, containing many fantastical themes, supernatural events, and extraordinary elements. Alongside global fantastic film festivals like the Sitges Film Festival in Spain, the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival in Belgium, and the Fantasporto in Portugal, the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival is known as Asia's largest fantastic film festival.

On the final day of the "NAFF It Project," a ceremony will be held to announce cash prize awards, including the Bucheon Award, and awards supporting post-production. We look forward to your project entries to challenge the "NAFF It Project," which serves as a perfect opportunity to appeal genre film projects currently in development to the global market.
