Valeo, in the presence of Marc Vrecko, CEO of the Brain Division, inaugurated a state-of-the-art HD surround-view camera production line at its Sanand plant on April 3, 2026. This represents a significant step for Valeo in India, demonstrating manufacturing excellence in the region.
This crucial expansion underscores the Group's ongoing commitment to scaling up local production of advanced vision systems and driving the future of mobility in India. The newly opened line will focus on the mass production of next-generation vision camera systems for key OEMs in India. These systems are designed to enhance driving assistance, improve road safety, and support the growing demand for autonomous and semi-autonomous driving technologies in the region.
Beyond cameras, the Sanand plant is set to become a multi-technology hub for scalable production of advanced in-car displays and telematics control units. This will support Valeo's further diversification at its local sites to meet the increasing demand for digital cockpit and connected car solutions.
Marc Vrecko, CEO of Valeo's Brain Division, stated: “The opening of this new camera line at our Sanand plant is a proud moment for our team and a testament to our focus on the Indian market. By localizing the production of these highly complex and advanced vision systems, we are not only optimizing our supply chain but also accelerating the delivery of world-class safety technologies to our partners.”
Jayakumar G, Group President and Managing Director of Valeo India, commented: “We are expanding our product portfolio in Sanand, India. This investment in a state-of-the-art surround-view camera line reaffirms our commitment to localizing high-tech solutions. This will strengthen our ADAS product capabilities and R&D, ensuring we continue to meet the evolving needs of our customers.”
With this opening, Valeo further solidifies its position as a core solution provider for intelligent mobility, making cutting-edge technology more accessible to consumers and OEMs. This contributes to the vision of India becoming a global hub for automotive innovation and manufacturing. While hardware is mass-produced at the Sanand plant, Valeo's R&D hub in Chennai develops the advanced software and intelligence that drives these sensors.
Crucially, this facility will lead the manufacturing of key components for both Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) and cutting-edge Advanced Rider Assistance Systems (ARAS). India is designated as a priority region in Valeo's strategic plan “Elevate 2028.” By combining large-scale local production with region-specific R&D, Valeo is excellently positioned to shape the future of driving and riding in India, providing world-class, future-ready technologies to both OEMs and consumers.
