JAPAN MADE PROJECT TOKYO Launches New 'Life with Public Baths' Apparel Collection on June 19, Celebrating Sentō Culture with Enthusiasts

Under the concept of 'Japan's regions are fascinating,' Urban Research Co., Ltd. collaborates with local communities through its 'JAPAN MADE PROJECT' to address regional challenges and co-create value.

As part of this initiative, JAPAN MADE PROJECT TOKYO focuses on the potential of 'sentō' (public baths) in urban life. Since 2020, the project has partnered with 'Kosugiyu,' a long-established sentō in Koenji, Suginami Ward, Tokyo. Today, it collaborates with 'Sentō Grashi,' the operator of 'Kosugiyu Tonari,' to expand its activities.

An original pattern co-created with 'Sentō Grashi' members. Inspired by steam rising from sentō and ripples on water, the flowing curves are based on the hiragana character 'ゆ' (yu), symbolizing hot water. Simple yet playful, the design adds subtle individuality to summer outfits.

Two pant styles—'yu' pants (long) and (short)—feature an integrated 'fundoshi' (traditional Japanese loincloth) fabric, a feature used in select steteco.com products.
