Unisol Corporation Launches "Desktop Drill Grinding Machine M-01-A / M-21-A" Featuring Unique Flat Grinding Method for High-Strength Cutting Edges

Unisol Corporation (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Osaka, President: Ryuhei Furuzato) will launch "Desktop Drill Grinding Machines" from its private brand "Giga Selection" at machinery tool dealers and e-commerce sites nationwide on April 1st.

Previously, hand-grinding drill bits with grinders was common, but in recent years, the transfer of drill grinding skills has become difficult due to the retirement of skilled technicians and a lack of successors.

The "Desktop Drill Grinding Machine" being launched this time allows for easy and stable conical drill grinding even without prior experience in hand-grinding.

By adopting a unique blade tip positioner and a finely adjustable collet holder, precise visual setting can be made so that the blade tip is parallel to the reference line of the positioner, enabling stable and accurate drill grinding.

Conventional peripheral grinding, which grinds with the outer circumference of a conical grinding wheel, would transfer the R of the grinding wheel to the drill's cutting edge. However, this product's unique flat grinding method finishes the cutting edge flat, thereby increasing the strength of the cutting edge and contributing to extending tool life.

In addition to basic HSS drills, by adding or replacing optional parts, it can also re-grind carbide drills, large-diameter/irregular shank drills, and candle-type steel structure drills, supporting a wide range of tasks.

Two types are available to suit usage needs: M-01-A and M-21-A. The M-01-A can grind drill diameters from Φ2~13mm, and the M-21-A from Φ12~26mm.

The suggested retail prices are 160,000 yen (excluding tax) / 340,000 yen (excluding tax), making it a highly cost-effective unit. Moving forward, "Giga Selection" will continue to provide high-quality products at affordable prices to manufacturing sites and factories.
