About Unagi Sora At our restaurant, we offer 'Tenku Unagi' (Sky Eel), 'Tosa no Igossou', and 'Chikushi Kin Unagi', which are unique brand eels not found in other eel specialty restaurants in Japan, along with carefully selected ingredients. Please enjoy our proud eels, raised with meticulous attention to their feed. We are just a 15-step walk from Nishiki Market, which has been loved by locals for many years as Kyoto's kitchen. You can enjoy exquisite eel dishes in our Japanese modern-designed restaurant, themed on the fusion of innovation and tradition.

Unagi Sora's Commitment Our restaurant is particular about the feed given to the eels, using no chemical substances whatsoever, and entrusting their cultivation to trusted eel producers in Japan. 'Tenku Unagi' (Sky Eel) is the ultimate eel raised on both natural blue fish and mantis shrimp. 'Tosa no Igossou' is raised on natural blue fish and white fish meal. 'Chikushi Kin Unagi' is raised with mantis shrimp mixed into its feed, resulting in a richer flavor and softer texture than wild eels. 'Kagoshima-produced Unagi' uses only eels sourced from our designated eel farm in Kagoshima Prefecture. Please enjoy the supreme eel that can only be tasted at Unagi Sora.

Normally, eel is grilled with sauce applied 3 to 4 times, but at our restaurant, to allow you to enjoy the original taste of the eel, we apply the sauce only twice. We are also particular about our additive-free sauce. Even with two applications, you can fully savor the umami of the eel. The rice we use is a domestic blend developed jointly with Hachidaime Gihei, a long-established Kyoto rice dealer, and is carefully cooked.

Message from the Owner Unagi Sora, which opened in April 2020 amidst the challenging circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, has been able to celebrate its 5th anniversary thanks to everyone's warm support. The first three years after opening were difficult, but we have been able to continue thanks to our customers. To express our daily gratitude, we have prepared a modest but special 5th-anniversary campaign.
