Uber Launches Dedicated Ride-Hailing App Pickup Area at Haneda Airport Terminal 3 P5 Parking

Uber Japan Co., Ltd. announced that as of June 9, 2026, it has begun trial operations of a newly established "Ride-Hailing App Dedicated Pickup Area" at the P5 parking lot adjacent to Haneda Airport Terminal 3. This is the first time a dedicated pickup area that can be used jointly by various ride-hailing apps has been established at Haneda Airport Terminal 3.

In recent years, the rapid increase in inbound tourists, combined with the growing use of ride-hailing apps by both domestic and international travelers, has made improving the convenience of secondary transport at airports an urgent issue. The establishment of this pickup area within the P5 parking lot creates an environment where users can utilize ride-hailing apps more clearly and smoothly. Through efficient dispatch operations, Uber Japan aims to suppress vehicle buildup on roads around the airport and contribute to congestion relief.

Dedicated pickup areas for ride-hailing apps have already been established at Terminals 1 and 2 at Haneda Airport. The number of trips via the Uber app increased approximately twofold in April 2026 compared to September 2025 (before the pickup area was established), suggesting that the development of dedicated pickup areas is contributing to improved travel convenience for airport users.

Uber Japan expects to provide a more comfortable and seamless travel experience for many users, including travelers from overseas, at Terminal 3 as well. Through this trial operation, Uber Japan will continue to work on improving the travel experience for airport users and developing smooth airport access environments, while contributing to improving the convenience of ride-hailing apps at airports.

The Uber app features advanced technologies, including automatic payment, chat functionality, support for over 70 languages, a rating system, and services like "Uber Teens" and "Uber Seniors." Furthermore, the subscription service "Uber One" offers benefits such as priority matching with highly-rated drivers and a credit equivalent to 10% of ride fares.
