On April 13, 2026, Uber Eats Japan LLC (Uber Eats) commenced new delivery services in a total of 15 municipalities across Fukushima, Ibaraki, Tochigi, Gunma, and Chiba prefectures, and significantly expanded services in 7 municipalities in Tochigi and Chiba prefectures. The new service areas include Saigo Village and Shirakawa City in Fukushima Prefecture; Kasama City, Ishioka City, and Omitama City in Ibaraki Prefecture; Mashiko Town, Otawara City, Yaita City, and parts of Moka City in Tochigi Prefecture; Numata City, Showa Village, and Minakami Town in Gunma Prefecture; and Asahi City, Shirako Town, and parts of Sōsa City in Chiba Prefecture. Expanded areas are Tochigi City, Ashikaga City, Nasushiobara City, and Sano City in Tochigi Prefecture; and Chosei Village, Oamishirasato City, and Mobara City in Chiba Prefecture. These areas are known for local gourmet food and roadside establishments. The introduction of Uber Eats provides a new food option for residents, allowing them to enjoy local flavors at home, work, or leisure locations, addressing a previous reliance on car travel for purchases. It also aims to meet urgent needs for food and daily necessities. For local restaurants, this offers a new sales channel with low initial investment. To support the recruitment of delivery partners, new registrants in the target areas who complete 10 deliveries by April 30, 2026, will receive an additional 50,000 JPY. This creates flexible income opportunities in rural areas. To commemorate the launch and expansion, first-time customers in the new areas can use the promotion code '2026HELLO' in the app for a 2,500 JPY discount on their first two orders over 2,000 JPY. Uber Eats continues to pursue its 'Get Anything' platform vision by enhancing customer experience, deepening partnerships with merchants, providing a flexible working environment for delivery partners, and further expanding areas and functionalities.
