The Faculty of Human Culture and the Junior College at the University of Shimane will conduct a dance class in collaboration with the Matsue Folk Dance Federation for approximately 180 first-year students enrolled in 'Health Sports' from four departments.
On the day, the Matsue Folk Dance Federation will serve as instructors, introducing folk dance and providing practical guidance to students. The purpose is not only to help students develop a sense of rhythm and expressive power by dancing nostalgic folk dances, but also to learn about regional local culture, customs, and history by incorporating traditional Japanese folk dances such as the 'Iwami Ginzan Makage-bushi.' Additionally, 17 students from the university's dance club, SKDM, will perform.
