MC Tetsuro Degawa's New Impressionist Projects to Air for 4 Consecutive Weeks on Saturday Late Nights in April! "Laugh in a Second When the Lights Come On! Meiten Monomane GP" & "Singer vs. Impressionist: Heart-Stirring Serious Singing Battle"

TV Tokyo will broadcast a special impressionist program hosted by Tetsuro Degawa for four consecutive Saturdays from 25:25 (1:25 AM JST) in April.

On April 4th and 11th, it's "Laugh in a Second When the Lights Come On! Meiten Monomane Grand Prix".

The MC is Tetsuro Degawa from "Monomane Ranking," and four studio guests will appear: Ken Yahagi (Ogi Yahagi), Naoki Hashimoto (Ginshari), Shizuya Yoshizawa (Travis Japan), and Nao Asahi! 34 acts who won fierce auditions will challenge this new project. From the ultimate impressions by impressionist legends Akimasa Haraguchi, Kannazuki, and Miracle Hikaru, to the manzai impression by Sanshiro featuring the real people, to over-the-top costume impressions by Kintalo. and Ringo-chan, and also incredibly similar anime characters and new impressions where faces change in an instant will appear one after another. Who will win the MVP with what act in this new impressionist show that utilizes blackout and light-up transitions? This new sensation impressionist show, which might be globally recognized, is a must-see!

■ Tetsuro Degawa

It was a lot of fun to challenge the new "Meiten Monomane" project, which is different from previous impressionist shows, and the "looseness" unique to late-night programs was very enjoyable. I was moved by the spirit of the comedians who waited for a long time with makeup on for short acts. There were also many naked acts, so I want people to pay attention to that too.

■ Ken Yahagi (Ogi Yahagi)

It had the goodness of a "first attempt, rough-around-the-edges first episode." I think it's a show worth watching now. Pay close attention to Micchi.

■ Shizuya Yoshizawa (Travis Japan)

On April 18th and 25th, it's "Singer vs. Impressionist: THE Heart-Stirring Song".

This is a serious singing battle, a "forbidden" project even for MC Degawa. Enka singer Kaori Mizumori, a regular on Kohaku, and musical star Kanata Irei will participate! Facing them are impressionist legends such as Yoko Aramaki, Kodai Matsuura, and Miracle Hikaru. From a serious singing showdown between Yoko Aramaki and Rie Utagokoro performing MISIA, to duet battles by Chris Hart & Yusaku Kiyama and Beauty Kokubu & Yoyoyo-chan, a live piano performance battle by YouTuber Yomii, and even a team battle with everyone singing together – a total of 11 serious battles will unfold. Guest judges include Masaki Imai, ShiraSta, and Akimasa Haraguchi. Can impressions surpass the singing of professional singers? What will be the outcome of the battle, with MC Degawa also joining the judging? This forbidden serious singing battle is a must-see!

Furthermore, original acts that are not broadcast on terrestrial TV, such as "Videos I Absolutely Want to Imitate," where impressionists perform complete reproductions, will be distributed on TVer and other platforms!

■ Kaori Mizumori

Normally, I'm on the side watching and laughing at impressions, but this time I was singing, and all the impressionists were so good at singing that I felt incredibly nervous. There were also luxurious collaborations that you don't usually see, and I especially want everyone to listen to the collaboration between Tatsuro Yamashita and Mariya Takeuchi.

■ Kanata Irei

I've loved impressions since I was young, so I immediately accepted the offer to appear. The first sound from the impressionists was amazing, combining both similarity and humor. I think we became one in the final chorus with all the singers and impressionists. Miracle Hikaru's face stole the show.

■ Masaki Imai

Judging this forbidden project was tough at first. But both sides had incredible entertainment power. It was the best entertainment project, where you could really feel the impressionists putting their lives into it. I think others will imitate this.

■ Akimasa Haraguchi

I thought impressions couldn't possibly beat the serious singing of professional singers, but... the impressions were so moving (laughs). I felt both the singers' passion for singing and the impressionists' respect, and I was inspired. Beauty Kokubu was especially amazing, and I was truly moved by young Shima's singing voice.
