Trailer Released & Additional Theaters Announced! Director Mamoru Hosoda's "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" 4K Revival Screening to Begin Nationwide on July 3, 2026!

As part of a revival project by the Filmarks review service, Director Mamoru Hosoda's masterpiece "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" will be re-released in 4K in 161 theaters across Japan, starting July 3, 2026. A newly released 4K trailer showcases how modern technology was used to remove visual noise and enhance clarity, vividly recreating detailed cityscapes and the depth of the summer sky. The film, which originally grew from a 6-theater release in 2006 to a long-running hit in over 100 theaters through word-of-mouth, returns to the big screen in high definition 20 years later. An official TikTok account has also been launched for promotion.
