Established in 1902, Triumph Motorcycles celebrated its 120th anniversary of motorcycle manufacturing in 2022. For over 30 years, Triumph Motorcycles has been based in Hinckley, Leicestershire, producing iconic bikes that perfectly blend authentic design, character, charisma, and performance.
Triumph is the largest motorcycle manufacturer in the UK, with a production volume of 134,635 units in FY2024* and a dealer network spanning approximately 950 dealerships in 68 countries worldwide (*self-researched).
Triumph currently employs around 3,000 people worldwide and has local subsidiaries in the UK, North America, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Japan, Sweden (Scandinavia), Benelux, Brazil, China, and Thailand. It also has a network of independent distributors. Furthermore, it operates manufacturing plants in Hinckley, Leicestershire, and Thailand, as well as CKD factories in Brazil and India.
Triumph focuses on what riders worldwide desire, with a passion for delivering the perfect ride to all customers and meticulous attention to detail in delivering the highest quality motorcycles. It continues to expand its lineup of category-leading motorcycles, including Modern Classics, Roadsters, and Adventure bikes. From the accessible 400cc TR series Speed to the powerful 2500cc engine Rocket 3, each model embodies Triumph's iconic style, quality, and performance.
The SPEED 400 and SCRAMBLER 400 X, offering fun, agility, and confidence to riders of all ages and experience levels, were launched in 2023 on a completely new single-engine platform (TR series). They offer incredible value for money, providing a new generation of riders with the opportunity to own a Triumph.
The Modern Classics are powered by Triumph's legendary Bonneville twin engine. The name Bonneville commemorates the land speed record Triumph set on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, USA, in 1956. These models are the originators of British superbikes, chosen by legendary motorcyclists of the past for their handling, style, and character, and have achieved race victories. Today, the Bonneville family has evolved with rider-focused technology and cool custom styling. The lineup includes the Bonneville Bobber, Speedmaster, Thruxton RS, Speed Twin 900, Speed Twin 1200, Scrambler 900, Scrambler 1200, and the iconic Bonneville T120 and T100.
The Roadster series includes the popular Trident 660 for its agility, the sporty Daytona 660, the Street Triple 765, and the Speed Triple 1200 RS. For adventure riders, Triumph offers a magnificent lineup from the Tiger Sport 660 and Tiger Sport 800 to the Tiger 900 series and the Tiger 1200 series.
In 2022, Triumph acquired OSET Bikes, an electric motorcycle manufacturer. Founded in 2004 by Ian Smith, OSET Bikes is highly competitive in the trials market, achieving top 5 finishes in the Youth National Trials Championship. They have also been active in events such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed, MotoGP, World Superbike Championship, and the Isle of Man TT. As part of the Triumph family, they play a crucial role in realizing a full lineup of off-road bikes and nurturing the next generation of riders.
In 2023, Triumph set a Guinness World RecordTM for the "Farthest distance ridden by motorcycle in 24 hours (individual)." Ivan Cervantes, a five-time Enduro World Champion and Triumph Global Ambassador, rode a standard production Tiger 1200 GT Explorer from the factory and covered 4012 km in 24 hours on a high-speed ring at the Nardò Technical Center in Italy, surpassing the previous record of 3406 km by over 600 km.
Triumph has a glorious racing history, competing and winning in almost every class and discipline of motorsport. Victories include the second Isle of Man TT race in 1908, and domination of roads and circuits in Europe and America in the 1960s. In recent years, Triumph has achieved SuperSport titles with its 675cc three-cylinder engine in 2014 and 2015, competed in World Supersport races, and Gary Johnson and Peter Hickman won the Isle of Man Supersport TT in 2014 and 2019. Furthermore, in 2023, Peter Hickman achieved an average speed exceeding 130 mph (approx. 209 km/h) on a Triumph STR765, and in 2022, Brandon Paasch secured a thrilling victory on the last lap of the legendary Daytona 200 on a Street Triple 765.
Triumph's racing legacy continues as the exclusive engine supplier for the FIM Moto2TM World Championship since the start of the 2019 season. Triumph Motorcycles supplies all participating teams with a race-tuned 765cc three-cylinder engine. This engine redefined the class, breaking records in its inaugural year, including the first-ever speed exceeding +300 km/h.
Following this remarkable success, feedback and partnerships from riders and teams, and a strong response from Triumph fans worldwide, Triumph and Dorna decided to extend their collaboration in 2021 and 2023, signing a further five-year racing contract (2025-2029).
Triumph will compete in the 2025 World Supersport Championship with PTR Triumph Factory Racing, with Tom Booth-Amos and Ollie Bayliss competing on the Street Triple 765. Macadam Triumph Factory Racing will field Luke Stapleford and Max Wadsworth, who were runners-up in the 2024 British Supersport Championship. In the National Sportbike Championship, Brody Gawith, Jaden Martin, Katie Hand, and Lewis Smart will compete on the Daytona 660, joined by Harrison Deso of PHR Triumph.
In 2023, Triumph announced its intention to compete in the 2024 MXGP/MX2 and SuperMotocross World Championships. Following a successful debut season, four riders will compete in the 2025 SuperMotocross: Jarek Swoll, Austin Forkner, Jordan Smith, and Stilez Robertson will compete in both Supercross coasts and the Pro Motocross series on the TF250-X. In the FIM MX2 World Championship, Camden McLellan will enter his second year on the Triumph machine, joined by Guillem Farres. Mikel Harrap will remain as a test rider (due to age restrictions in the MX2 category).
In September 2024, Triumph announced the official appointment of motorsport legend and former world champion Paul Edmonson as Team Manager for Triumph Racing's Enduro program. In 2025, Jonny Walker secured second overall in the SuperEnduro World Championship with the TF 250 and completed the Red Bull Erzberg Rodeo on the TF 250-E 4-stroke (nearly standard specification). In Enduro GP, experienced riders Jamie McCanney and Mikael Persson will compete on the TF 250-E. In August 2025, Triumph will participate in the International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) for the first time, with the TF 250-E contributing to the World Trophy victory in Italy and a podium finish for Sweden after decades, as well as a top 5 individual overall finish.
