Strengthening "KANAMETO" Net-Zero CO2 Emissions Initiative Through Purchase of Nagano Prefecture Koumi Prefecture Forest J-Credits

transcosmos online communications Inc. calculates the carbon footprint (CFP) of its cloud service "KANAMETO" and achieves net-zero CO2 emissions by purchasing carbon dioxide (CO2) emission rights (credits) based on the results. As part of this effort, they purchased J-Credits from the Koumi Prefecture Forest in Nagano Prefecture, contributing to forest conservation in Nagano.

Background of Purchasing Koumi Prefecture Forest J-Credits in Nagano Prefecture Our company calculates greenhouse gas emissions generated throughout the lifecycle of "KANAMETO" and achieves net-zero emissions by offsetting them through the purchase of carbon dioxide (CO2) emission rights (credits). This aligns with the government's "2050 Carbon Neutral" goal and local governments' green procurement policies.

For carbon offsetting, we utilize the J-Credit System (※), primarily purchasing forest credits created by local governments.

※ The J-Credit System is a system where the government certifies the amount of greenhouse gases reduced or absorbed through the introduction of renewable energy, energy-saving equipment, or proper forest management.

The Koumi Prefecture Forest J-Credits in Nagano Prefecture that we purchased this time were certified under the J-Credit System for the CO2 absorbed through forest maintenance in the Koumi Prefecture Forest (Location: Koumi Town, Minami Saku District, Nagano Prefecture). We purchased these credits to contribute to forest conservation promotion in Nagano Prefecture.

Our company attended the "Nagano Prefecture Prefectural Forest J-Credit Creation Project Cooperation Company/Organization Certification Ceremony" held on March 18, 2026, at the Nagano Prefectural Forestry Center Building.

This ceremony is where Nagano Prefecture presents certificates to companies and organizations that have contributed to forest development through the purchase of prefectural forest J-Credits.
