Regarding the New Release of MUFG's Financial and Economic Education Program

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc. (President and Group CEO: Hiroshi Kamezawa, hereinafter MUFG) is actively promoting financial and economic education as an initiative to improve financial literacy, recognizing that asset management business is a crucial undertaking to revitalize the Japanese economy and is positioned as one of its medium-to-long-term growth strategies in the context of the government's "Nation of Asset Management" initiative. Within this framework, we are launching new programs, "How to Use Money Learned with Momotetsu" and "The Power of Money - VENTURE - ", which students can enjoy learning through games and which are easy for teachers and school staff to incorporate into their lessons.

"How to Use Money Learned with Momotetsu" is a program in collaboration with the browser version "Momotaro Dentetsu Education Edition Lite ~Japan is Interesting!~" provided by Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd. (President and Representative Director: Hideki Hayakawa) to educational institutions. With the concept of "learning how to use money proactively while enjoying the fun of the game," it has been developed for elementary school fifth graders to junior high school students.

Furthermore, "The Power of Money - VENTURE - " is a new teaching material in MUFG's inquiry-based financial and economic education program series, "The Power of Money." Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities Co., Ltd. (President and Representative Director: Makoto Kobayashi) has developed this program for junior high school to university students with the concept of "fostering the "entrepreneurial spirit" necessary for everyone living in the coming era within school education."

Both "How to Use Money Learned with Momotetsu" and "The Power of Money - VENTURE - " teaching materials have been jointly developed with Education and Exploration Inc. (President and Representative Director: Kanji Miyaji).

Applications for both programs can be made through MUFG's financial and economic education portal site "Manebiya"[1] for schools and educational institutions nationwide.

With its purpose (reason for existence) of "Becoming the world's driving force," MUFG has set priority issues (priority issues) to address in its sustainability management towards the realization of a sustainable environment and society. Financial and economic education is positioned as one of the main measures for "Addressing the declining birthrate and aging population," which is one of its priority issues. For financial and economic education for students, we have offered a wide range of teaching materials for elementary school to university students and have carried out various activities with teachers and school staff through outreach classes and inquiry-based programs.

This new financial and economic education program is designed to be implemented in a shorter period than conventional programs and in a game format, making it an initiative to deliver financial and economic education to a larger number of students. As a financial institution, we will continue to contribute to the improvement of financial literacy as a group, aiming to become the driving force for the future of children who will bear the next generation.
