Toyo Corporation Launches Sales of Two PCB High-Voltage Isolated Compact Triaxial Accelerometers

Toyo Corporation (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Toshiya Kono) will launch sales of the high-voltage isolated compact ICP triaxial accelerometer "HV356A03" and the capacitive compact DC response triaxial accelerometer "3753A series," manufactured by PCB Piezotronics, Inc. (Headquarters: New York, USA, General Manager: Joe Van Slycke), starting in May 2026. Both products contribute to safe and high-precision vibration measurement, primarily for customers in the automotive industry where vehicles are becoming more advanced, such as electrified vehicles like EVs and PHEVs, and Software Defined Vehicles (SDVs).

Triaxial accelerometers are used to measure the vibration of an object. By simultaneously measuring minute movements across the X, Y, and Z axes and converting them into electrical signals, combined with tools like a data logger, it is possible to quantify and measure vibrations. They are utilized in vibration testing to enhance the durability and robustness of vehicles, as well as in structural analysis conducted to reduce vibrations and noises that drivers find uncomfortable.

In recent years, the automotive industry has seen an acceleration in the development of EVs and PHEVs, with a rapid shift toward electrification and higher voltages. While vehicle structures are becoming more complex, there is also a demand for weight reduction to improve fuel efficiency. On the other hand, the installation of large-capacity voltage batteries and high-output motors makes them prone to generating vibrations and resonances different from those of combustion engine vehicles. These vibrations are easily transmitted to surrounding components, necessitating impact evaluations. Furthermore, as engine noise has decreased due to electrification, previously unnoticeable minute vibrations have become an issue, requiring more advanced vibration measurement.

[ New Product 1: High-Voltage Isolated Compact ICP Triaxial Accelerometer "HV356A03" ]

The "HV356A03" is a model capable of vibration measurement even in high-voltage environments up to 2,000VDC. It can be safely used on energized actual machinery when evaluating the vibration of high-voltage components such as motors, inverters, and batteries, as well as when assessing automotive NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness). Its compact size of 8.64mm in height, length, and width, combined with a non-conductive housing, allows it to be mounted directly on energized components, achieving highly accurate vibration measurement. Existing data loggers can also be used as they are.

It enables safe and high-precision vibration measurement in applications such as measuring vibration inside EV battery modules/packs, vibration measurement of inverters and DC/DC converters while energized, vibration testing of inverter drive control components, monitoring of electric powertrains (motors and gearboxes), vibration evaluation of energized high-voltage components, and vibration analysis during EV development and verification, thereby supporting the development, evaluation, and verification of next-generation electric vehicles.
