Yamada Town in Iwate Prefecture (Mayor: Shinitsu Sato) will hold the 'Yamada Nigiwai Ichi' (Yamada Bustling Market) on June 7, 2026. This time, the event will feature a catching event for seasonal Yamada Town salmon and a salmon weight guessing quiz. Additionally, local agricultural products, marine processed goods, and light meals will be sold.

While exploring ways to eventually revive the 'Ichi-bi' (Market Day), which was held mainly by businesses before the Great East Japan Earthquake, the local economy was further impacted severely by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Given this background, the 'Yamada Nigiwai Ichi' has been held since fiscal year 2022 to provide a place where local producers and processors can easily sell their products.
