This time, the 'Goshinko' (a designated intangible folk cultural property of Umi Town), which is held once every two years during the Koyasu Grand Festival, will be conducted (scheduled to end around 1:00 PM).

The Goshinko features a procession of portable shrines (mikoshi) departing from Umi Hachimangu and parading to Ino Tongu, followed by a cute procession of children in festive attire. Wrapped in the cheerful spring weather and the echoing sounds of flutes, the portable shrine procession advances elegantly and slowly.

Furthermore, from 2:00 PM, the 'Umi Kagura' (a designated intangible folk cultural property of the prefecture) will be dedicated at the Kaguraden of Umi Hachimangu (scheduled to end around 5:00 PM).

Won't you come and observe these traditional events that Umi Town is proud of?

* The photographs of the Goshinko are from the events held in 2018 (Heisei 30) and 2024 (Reiwa 6).
