Shiranuka Town, Hokkaido, along with Imyu Inc. (CEO: Kohei Kuroda) and playknot Inc. (CEOs: Takuma Honya, Kyohei Yamaguchi), jointly operated by the 'Shiralica Brand Project Executive Committee,' held the experiential event 'A Day of Food and Ingredients' with the concept of 'Connecting Urban and Rural Areas Through Food.' The event took place over two days, March 21 (Sat) and March 28 (Sat), 2026, at Shimizukoen Campsite in Noda City, Chiba Prefecture.
This event was held with the aim of fostering a deeper understanding of producers and production sites through Hokkaido's Shiranuka Town ingredients, and creating an opportunity to consider new relationships between urban and rural areas. All 250 meal kits prepared over the two days were distributed, and many visitors enjoyed the experience.
Event Background Shiranuka Town, as the 'Town of Food and Ingredients,' has built connections with donors nationwide through its hometown tax donation system.
In a society facing population decline, the rebuilding of relationships between urban and rural areas is called for, and 'food' is a particularly important point of connection between the two.
This event aimed to provide an opportunity to reflect on the 'livelihoods of producers' behind the ingredients that appear on our daily dining tables, and to allow participants to experientially understand the connection between urban and rural areas.
Event Overview and Implementation Details At this event, meal kits using ingredients from Shiranuka Town were distributed free of charge exclusively to campsite users. By enabling participants to cook and experience the food on-site, we offered an experience that went beyond 'eating' to 'knowing and feeling.'
