【Kunitomi Town, Miyazaki Prefecture】Just over 500 days left until the 2027 "Hinatami Miyazaki National Sports Festival and National Sports Festival for People with Disabilities"! Countdown board installed in town hall lobby to promote Fencing competition

The Kunitomi Town Executive Committee for the Miyazaki National Sports Festival has installed a countdown board with the aim of building momentum for the "Hinatami Miyazaki National Sports Festival and National Sports Festival for People with Disabilities" to be held in 2027. It has been decided that "fencing" will be held in Kunitomi Town, and a pre-tournament is also scheduled from December 18-20, 2026, prior to the main event. The entire town will intensify its preparations to welcome athletes and spectators from all over the country.

The board features stuffed toys of the event mascot character "Miyazaki-ken" (Miyazaki Dog) and a fencing-themed design, making the event feel more accessible to visitors to the town hall.

While this board was handmade by town officials, Kunitomi Town is also exploring the possibility of reusing digital boards that have completed their role in previously hosting municipalities, with the aim of promoting inter-municipal cooperation.
