Tege-Kin = Fridays, the Town Hall Turns Pink!

Kunitomi Town, Miyazaki Prefecture (Mayor: Toshio Hidaka), is celebrating the promotion of professional soccer club Tegevajaro Miyazaki Co., Ltd. (Representative Director and Chairman: Minoru Ishihara, Representative Director and President: Isao Miyamoto), with whom it has a comprehensive partnership agreement, to J2, and is promoting town-wide support activities.

Kunitomi Town has designated Fridays with matches as "Tege-Kin" (Tegevajaro Miyazaki Support Day), where officials, mainly in window services and tourism-related departments, perform their duties wearing pink attire, such as official baseball shirts. As a partner in the agreement, the town is promoting an initiative to boost momentum for solving regional issues through sports.

During a discussion held on Wednesday, April 22nd, with club officials, #9 player Keigo Hashimoto, who was last season's top scorer, also attended. Mayor Toshio Hidaka delivered a message of encouragement, and they had an enthusiastic exchange of opinions on how the club, challenging a new stage in J2, and Kunitomi Town will continue to energize the region through sports in cooperation.

■ Kunitomi Town

A town with a population of about 17,000, located in the central part of Miyazaki Prefecture. It has many valuable cultural assets, such as the Honjo Kofun Group (National Historic Site) dotted throughout the townscape, and is a kind-hearted town where history and culture breathe within its beautiful nature. It is characterized by a warm climate throughout the year, and is a treasure trove of ingredients, including agricultural products nurtured by the sun of southern Miyazaki such as mangoes, sen-giri daikon (dried daikon radish), bell peppers, Fuyu persimmons, and rice, as well as Miyazaki beef and charcoal-grilled chicken. Recently, there have been positive news in the industrial and entertainment fields, such as ROHM Co., Ltd. aiming to establish a new production base for SiC power semiconductors in the town, and enka singer Soichi Futami, a native of the town, being appointed as the first hometown ambassador.
