This exhibition showcases pottery fragments unearthed through archaeological surveys, meticulously restored by specialists to resemble their original forms. Featuring hands-on programs, it invites families and local residents to engage deeply with history.

Pottery unearthed through excavation surveys often reappears in modern times as broken or incomplete fragments, rarely in their original complete form. Restoration work allows these artifacts to be reconstructed as closely as possible to their original appearance.

All pottery displayed in this exhibition has undergone professional restoration. Each piece has been carefully restored by specialists, preserving its unique texture, color, patterns, and other characteristics. Why not explore the surprisingly profound world of reconstructed pottery—beyond simply restoring its original shape?

【Workshop Information】

"Pottery Making Experience"

Dates: Wednesday, August 11, 2026 (National Holiday) and Saturday, September 12, 2026, 13:30 – 15:30

Capacity: 10 participants per session (first-come, first-served)

Venue: Town Community Center Pottery Room

Fee: 500 JPY per person

"Mini Excavation Experience"

Dates: Saturday, August 8 – Sunday, August 16, 2026, 10:00 – 15:00

Venue: Entrance of Iizuna History and Cultural Center

Fee: Free

【Gallery Talk Information】

Dates: Saturday, August 8, August 29, September 12, and September 26, 2026

Time: Approximately 30 minutes starting at 10:00 each day

Venue: Special Exhibition Room, Iizuna History and Cultural Center

Fee: Admission fee required (Free for Iizuna Town residents)

After the talk, participants can experience "Angin (woven cloth) Making":

• Duration: 30–60 minutes (coaster-sized)
