Iizuna Town will hold the 'FY2026 Food Master Training Course' with the aim of passing on the local cuisine and food culture that have been inherited in the region to the next generation. In this course, the town aims to cultivate human resources who can learn and convey the regional food culture while experiencing the town's rich agricultural products and traditional foods. The course consists of five sessions combining practical training and classroom lectures, targeting residents interested in the food culture centered on Iizuna Town's local dishes and agricultural products. In the course, participants can experience making local foods unique to Iizuna Town, such as Kashiwa-mochi, Sasa-mochi, Soba-uchi (buckwheat noodle making), and Ohagi, as well as learn about food education and local history and culture. In recent years, opportunities to inherit regional food culture have been decreasing due to changes in lifestyles and a shortage of successors. Through this course, Iizuna Town will promote the learning of wisdom and food techniques passed down in the region and create opportunities for them to be passed on across generations.
