Torex Semiconductor Co., Ltd. (Koto-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Takeshi Kimura, hereinafter Torex) has developed the "XC9714 series" as a new product in its buck DC/DC converter lineup. This product supports a maximum input of 36V and an output current of 2.0A, achieving highly efficient and stable power supply across a wide range of applications. Furthermore, by standardizing the pin assignment with existing high-voltage products, the risk of redesigning the board due to changes in power supply specifications can be minimized.
The XC9714 series is a bootstrap-type synchronous rectification buck DC/DC converter with a built-in Nch-Nch driver FET. It features an input voltage of 4.5V to 36V, an output voltage setting of 2.5V to 18.0V, and an output current of 2.0A. The switching frequency is 800kHz, and the operating mode can be selected from "PWM control" and "PWM/PFM control" via the MODE pin. With PWM control, the frequency is constant regardless of the load, making noise countermeasures easy. In addition, since the current consumption of this product is very low at 9μA, when PWM/PFM control is selected, it achieves high efficiency even with light loads of 10mA or less IOUT, contributing to overall system power saving from light load to heavy load.
