TOMOCLOUD Inc. (Representative Director: Ryoma Ogawa), a venture company originating from Chiba University, declares its "dream" to implement its unique bio-imaging technology in a user-friendly form for society, contributing to the improvement of QOL (Quality of Life) for lymphedema patients and cancer survivors, and to grow it into a new platform technology that flexibly connects medical care, nursing care, and healthcare.

■ "Don't let research end with a paper" - A patient's words as the origin

Our origin lies in a patient's words that Representative Ogawa heard in a hospital ward during his student days: "What makes me most anxious is not being able to see the condition of my body."

Not just the symptoms themselves, but the very act of "not seeing" deepens people's anxiety. When he realized this reality, a strong desire to create technology that alleviates unseen anxiety and deliver it to the field emerged.

Especially after treatment for lymphedema or cancer, many people harbor unseen anxiety about "whether it has recurred." In an atmosphere of "you've saved your life, so...", daily swelling and fear tend to be put aside.

Circumference measurements, weight scales, and smartwatches make it difficult to obtain deep biological information related to edema, and hospital MRI and CT scans cannot be used daily. This barrier between "ease of use" and "accuracy" creates patients' lonely anxiety.

We resolved to deliver technology that alleviates this unseen anxiety and founded the company.

■ Achieving "CT visible on your smartphone" with our unique "EIT" technology

Overcoming this barrier is our unique visualization technology, "Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT)," which we have refined.

It captures changes in the electrical properties of water and body tissues, which constitute about 60% of the human body, to visualize the inside of the body simply and with high precision, without burdening the body.

Currently, with EIT technology as our core, we are challenging ourselves to create a "CT visible on your smartphone," including early detection of lymphedema.

This is not just an imaging technology. The moment something unseen becomes visible, it becomes a "compass" for people to take the next step with peace of mind, and a "companion" that accompanies them in their daily lives.

Our dream is to nurture this Japan-born technology into a global social model.
