Full-Scale Operation of EV Demand Mobility Service 'KAZE Mobi' Begins in Binh Duong New City, Vietnam

BECAMEX TOKYU CO., LTD. (hereinafter, Becamex Tokyu), a joint venture between Tokyu Corporation and the Becamex Group that develops Binh Duong New City in northern Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, in collaboration with its wholly-owned subsidiary BECAMEX TOKYU BUS CO., LTD. (hereinafter, Becamex Tokyu Bus), which has been operating fixed-route buses as Vietnam's first Japanese public transportation system since 2014, began providing the EV demand mobility service 'KAZE Mobi' within Binh Duong New City on Monday, June 1, 2026. 'KAZE Mobi' aims to realize flexible last-mile transportation not bound by time or place by operating an EV demand mobility service with 50 boarding/alighting spots set within the area for residents of Binh Duong New City. 'KAZE Mobi' can be used via a dedicated Zalo Mini App developed within 'Zalo', a widely used communication application in Vietnam. Users can call a vehicle and move freely between boarding/alighting spots within the area, with a monthly subscription fee for unlimited rides. As part of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's 'FY2026 Survey and Demonstration Study for Realizing TOD-type Urban Development Utilizing Smart Technology in Vietnam', a MaaS demonstration experiment was conducted in Binh Duong New City from February to March 2025. The results confirmed usage exceeding expectations and high satisfaction levels, revealing strong resident demand, leading to this full-scale operation. With 'KAZE Mobi', users can also enjoy unlimited rides on the 'KAZE SHUTTLE' bus, making travel within Binh Duong New City more comfortable and free. To coincide with the start of full-scale operation, a free trial campaign with advance registration will be held from Monday, June 1, 2026, to Friday, July 31, 2026. Currently, in Binh Duong New City, plans are progressing to extend Ho Chi Minh City's Urban Railway (Metro) Line 1, increasing expectations for public transport-oriented urban development. In this context, Becamex Tokyu aims to build a multi-layered public transportation network within Binh Duong New City by combining fixed-route buses and demand mobility, while also developing last-mile transportation infrastructure in anticipation of future railway access.
