A popular essay manga serialized for a long time in "Hanako" magazine. It is all-color and consists of self-contained 11-panel episodes, setting it apart from her other delicate, monochrome works. Despite being a pop and unconventional work, fans often call it their "favorite."

The protagonists are Haruchin, a freeter whose problem is being too boyish, and her girlish best friend, Chi-chan. Their ordinary yet very enjoyable daily lives as single women are depicted, making readers chuckle wryly and say, "Ah, well..."

Debuted in 1993 with "HOLE!!" (Monthly Manga "Garo"). Primarily published in "COMIC ARE!," "CUTiE comic," "FEEL YOUNG," and others. Published "Water.," "blue," and "Itowish Love" in succession. Gained attention for her style of depicting raw emotions in sophisticated art, while also gaining popularity for "Haruchin," which depicted daily life with a rough touch. Her representative works include "blue," "Pumpkin and Mayonnaise," and "strawberry shortcakes," all of which were adapted into movies and generated buzz. In 2010, she provided illustrations for "I Am Alone, the Night Expands: Michizo Tachihara Poetry Collection" and then went on hiatus. Her last manga work published in a collected volume was "Candy's Color is Red." in 2007. In 2020, her past works were reissued in new editions for the first time in 13 years, along with "Kiriko Nananan's Collected Works Commentary" by Nananan herself, and "Kiriko Nananan Uncollected Works," which compiles rare unpublished and uncollected works from her debut to her last serialized work before her hiatus.
