Tokyo Ink Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kita-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Satoshi Horikawa) will begin selling the polypropylene (PP) 3D printer filament "PP Super White" on our official corporate website's e-shops starting August 3, 2026 (Monday).
Polypropylene (PP) 3D Printer Filament "PP Super White"
This product is a 3D printer filament that achieves high whiteness, reflectivity, and light-shielding properties compared to general white filaments by dispersing white pigment at high concentration and uniformly. Its high hiding power suppresses internal light transmission even in thin-wall molding, realizing a uniform white appearance.
This is a functional white PP filament that combines a white appearance with printability.
Various comparative data measured by molding 0.5mm thick plates using this product and products from other companies.
Background of Development
Through the sale of "Luminade®", we have received numerous requests to mold materials that can be used as reflective materials for scintillation light using 3D printing.
Traditionally, reflective materials have often been handled as sheets or coatings, posing a challenge in achieving compatibility with freeform shape design.
To meet these needs, we have leveraged our plastic material design technology to achieve high dispersibility while filling a high concentration of white pigment. This allows us to achieve high whiteness and light-shielding properties while balancing them with stable printability.
This product will be offered as a functional white filament expected to be used not only for general purposes but also for optical and research and development applications.
Product Features
High Whiteness and Light-Shielding Properties: By blending white pigment at high concentration, we have achieved higher whiteness and hiding power compared to general white filaments.
It suppresses internal light transmission even in thin-wall molding, realizing a uniform white appearance.
Stable Appearance due to Uniform Dispersion: By uniformly dispersing the pigment, we suppress variations in color tone and density.
This achieves a stable color tone and appearance throughout the printed object.
Stable Printability: Stable printing is possible by suppressing warping and deformation.
It also supports continuous and large-scale printing.
Compatible with FFF Method 3D Printers: It can be used with general fused filament fabrication (FFF) 3D printers.
The filament diameter is 1.65-1.75mm, ensuring stable supply and printing.
