Tokyo Power Technology Affiliated Deaf Athlete Satoshi Osanai Selected for Chiba Prefecture's Para-Athlete Support Program

We are pleased to announce that Satoshi Osanai, a deaf athlete affiliated with our company, has been selected as an endorsed athlete for Chiba Prefecture's 'FY2026 Para-Athlete Reinforcement and Support Project.'

Osanai is expected to make significant strides in deaf athletics (pole vault) and competed as a member of the Japanese national team at the 'Tokyo 2025 Deaflympics,' the first Deaflympics held in Japan, last November.

Beyond his athletic pursuits, Osanai actively engages in promoting D&I to society through lectures at elementary schools and organizing athletics clinics.

About the Para-Athlete Reinforcement and Support Project

Chiba Prefecture manages a support project aimed at designating para-athletes and teams with ties to the prefecture and providing support for their reinforcement efforts. The goal is to improve the competitive strength of these athletes and promote sports, contributing to the development of a society where sports are 'played, watched, and supported.'

This project provides support tailored to each athlete's training needs, including training facilities, external coaching, equipment, and travel expenses for competitions.

Designated athletes also cooperate with the Chiba Prefecture Athletic Competitiveness Promotion Headquarters' 'Top Athlete Utilization Project,' visiting schools within the prefecture to provide technical guidance and demonstrations. This initiative aims to reinvest the achievements of the athlete reinforcement program back into regional sports.

'Even though I competed in the Deaflympics last year, I am very happy to be selected as a Chiba Prefecture endorsed athlete despite my transition to pole vaulting.
