The Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Metropolitan Small and Medium Enterprise Support Center (hereinafter 'the Center') are providing grants for expenses related to cybersecurity measure initiatives aimed at protecting corporate information assets.
We would like to announce that we are now accepting applications for the grant for the fiscal year 2026.
This initiative promotes the '2050 Tokyo Strategy'. Strategy 13 Industry: 'Supporting SMEs and Assisting their Growth'
Overview of the Cyber Security Measures Promotion Grant
Eligible Applicants: SMEs and related entities located in Tokyo that have declared the 'Security Action Two-Star' (*1) certified by the IPA (Information-technology Promotion Agency, Japan).
Eligible Expenses: Expenses related to the introduction or update of the following equipment and services necessary to implement internal cyber security measures: 1. UTMs, etc. (Appliance products integrating multiple security functions) 2. Network threat protection products (FW, VPN, intrusion detection systems, etc.) 3. Content security protection products (Anti-virus, anti-spam, etc.) 4. Access management products (Single sign-on, identity authentication, etc.) 5. System security management products (Access log management, etc.) 6. Encryption products (File encryption, etc.), etc.
Grant Rate and Maximum Amount: Grant Rate: Up to 1/2 Maximum Grant Amount: 5,000,000 JPY (Minimum application amount: 100,000 JPY)
*1 A system implemented by the IPA where businesses self-declare their commitment to security measures.

Round 1 Electronic Application Period: May 13 (Wed) - May 19 (Tue), 2026 Decision of Grant: Late July 2026 Eligible Grant Period: August 1 (Sat) - November 30 (Mon), 2026
Round 2 Electronic Application Period: September 9 (Wed) - September 15 (Tue), 2026 Decision of Grant: Late November 2026 Eligible Grant Period: December 1 (Tue), 2026 - March 31 (Wed), 2027
Round 3 Electronic Application Period: January 8 (Fri) - January 15 (Fri), 2027 Decision of Grant: Late March 2027 Eligible Grant Period: April 1 (Thu) - July 31 (Sat), 2027
* Applications are scheduled to be accepted via the national electronic application system 'J-Grants'. To use J-Grants, you must obtain a 'G-Biz ID Prime Account' in advance. It takes about two weeks to issue a G-Biz ID Prime Account, so those considering applying are requested to obtain it beforehand.
